Here are my thoughts on the 3 of the most downloaded mobile apps of August 2013!
Apps
1. NFL Mobile – Android, iOS – Free
The 2013-2014 football season is underway, and with it, the NFL has come out with a new app. For people like me who play fantasy football in leagues with their friends, it is super important to get updates on the status of players as quickly as possible. I need to know whether a player is injured and if they are going to be playing in a certain game, and I want to be able to see their stats to see how they have been doing. While the games are being played, I want to be able to see their stats ASAP as well, so that I can see that I am beating my friends. The newest NFL mobile app provides me with all the information I need.
2. 1 Second Everyday – Android – Free
My coworker showed me this app recently and I was sold. The purpose of the app is to allow you to save a 1 sec video each day of your life. It is free for the first 30 days, after which you have to pay $0.99 to keep using it. Take a video each day and then use the app to cut out a 1 second snippet. You are then able to compile the 1 second snippets from each day throughout a month or year into 1 video. This is a clever app for those of you who get nostalgic. Hopefully each one second snippet gives you a reminder of all the great things you have done throughout the years.
3. To Bed – iOS – $0.99
I downloaded this app this week and I am glad I did. The first thing the app asks for when you open it is your name and your age. After that is asks “When do you need to wake up in the morning?”. You then put in a time for each day of the week (Monday through Friday). Then based on your age and the time you said you need to wake up, the app determines what time you should be going to bed. For example, based on the fact that I am 26 and want to wake up at 7:30am on a Monday, the app suggests I go to bed at 11pm. The app then wakes you up at 7:30am. There is also a “vacation setting” app, which you can turn on when you don’t want to be bothered. I suggest downloading this app if you have trouble getting out of bed in the morning.
And there you have it, my round up of three of the best mobile apps of August 2013.
